On 28 April 2025, SHAAP Chair Dr Alastair MacGilchrist wrote to Taoiseach Micheál Martin about Ireland’s alcohol labelling regulations. In his letter, he urges the head of government to ensure that the planned introduction, in May 2026, of Ireland’s regulations on health information labelling of alcohol products is not derailed or delayed by alcohol industry lobbying.
