SHAAP Managed Alcohol Programme (MAP) Webinar.
Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems (SHAAP) invite you to join us on Wednesday 23 February from 14:00-16:00 GMT for our knowledge exchange webinar on Managed Alcohol Programmes (MAPs).
MAPs originate in Canada and are designed for people who are homeless and have an Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). They focus on harm prevention by providing measured, regular doses of alcohol and people in MAPs are often provided with mental and physical healthcare and access to other services.
The Simon Community is introducing Scotland’s first formal MAP, in Glasgow.
This webinar aims to exchange knowledge and allow discussion to equip people and organisations who work with homeless people and/or people with AUDs with knowledge on MAPs, how they work, what makes them work, what should be taken into account, and lessons that have been learned in Canada, London and in the early stages of development of the MAP in Glasgow.
Those who register will be able to watch the event online.
