Scottish Government Consultation on Alcohol Misuse
8 Sep 2008
SHAAP welcomes bold measures to tackle alcohol misuse in Scotland.
SHAAP considers the new strategic approach outlined in Changing Scotland's relationship with alcohol to be a landmark in the development of alcohol policy in Scotland. The consultation document presents an accurate, evidence-based analysis of the nature and scale of problem alcohol use in Scotland, as well as prosposing interventions that are shown to be some of the most effective and cost-effective in reducing alcohol-related harm.
The Scottish Government published its new framework for action on tackling alcohol misuse in June 2008, and the proposals were open for consultation until 9 September 2008.
