Screening and Brief Interventions for risky and harmful drinkers
30 Jun 2008
SHAAP has just published a short briefing paper on screening and brief interventions for "risky" and harmful drinkers.
The paper provides an overview of what is considered as best practice for screening for alcohol problems and delivery of brief interventions, based on current research evidence. It also outlines current policy and practice in Scotland.
The paper is available to download here. Printed copies are available from SHAAP.
The briefing paper has been produced as an outcome from a conference on brief interventions that SHAAP held in February. The aim of the conference was to identify barriers to the delivery of brief interventions on the Scottish Health Service and to pinpoint action required to overcome them. For more information on the conference, including speakers and presentations, see Events.
